Sophin Zoe graduated from Whittier College where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Cultures with minors in Spanish and sociology. Afterwards, they received the Heritage Language Fellowship to study at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
They bring to UWCO a wealth of knowledge in non-profit operations, management, finance and administration. Moreover, from 1994-2001, Sophin Zoe helped raise funds for United Way of Los Angeles by participating in the Annual Human Race 10K Run/Walk-a-thon.
Before joining UWCO, Sophin Zoe worked at Albertsons Companies where they were a District Hiring Coordinator and served as the Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Council Secretary for the Portland Division. Presently, Sophin Zoe volunteers as the DEI Chair at Whittier College and they are an advocate who seeks to build visibility and equity for the BILAPOC and the 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.
Sophin Zoe has been intentional with building relationships with folks from all backgrounds. In addition to moving to Central Oregon for its natural beauty and lush opportunities, they have found that one of Central Oregon’s greatest assets are the human connections. Sophin Zoe enjoys meeting new friends, cooking, writing, singing and going on wild adventures with their spouse and teenager in idyllic Central Oregon.
