CARES Collections Drive - United Way of Central Oregon

This year, we’re launching CARES: Community Access to Resources & Essential Supplies — a bold new initiative designed to meet families where they are, helping them hold on to dignity in moments that feel anything but secure.

We’re committed to meeting the basic needs of our neighbors with compassion, so that they can stretch their dollars further by providing essential supplies to Central Oregonians in need.

That’s why we’re hosting our first CARES Diaper & Period Product Collections Drive right now!

At these bank locations throughout Central Oregon, you can donate much-needed diapers, period products, and wipes for those facing diaper insecurity and menstrual poverty now through the end of 2025.

Did You Know?

In Oregon, 42% of households are considered ALICE—Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed—or living below the federal poverty level. These are families who are working, sometimes multiple jobs, but still unable to afford basic needs like housing, childcare, food—and yes, diapers & period products.

1 in 2 families with children under age 3 struggle to afford enough diapers to keep their children healthy and dry.

3 in 5 parents report missing work or school because they couldn’t afford the diapers required by childcare providers.

SNAP and WIC do not cover diapers, leaving families to make trade-offs between diapers and other essentials like food, medicine, or rent.

2 in 5 menstruators struggle to afford period products.

1 in 3 low-income women reports missing work or school due to lack of access.
